Meet Dr. Sauber

Dr. Ryan Sauber is a spine surgeon practicing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of back and neck conditions. His clinical focus includes both non-surgical care and minimally invasive techniques, including endoscopic spine surgery.

His approach is centered on helping people clearly understand their condition and treatment options, with an emphasis on avoiding unnecessary procedures and focusing on long-term function and quality of life

Leadership and Recognition

Dr. Sauber has been recognized for his contributions to education and patient care, including receiving the Golden Mallet Award as a top orthopaedic educator and being named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. 

His work also includes involvement in clinical research and national presentations focused on spine surgery outcomes and evolving techniques. 

Training and Experience

Dr. Sauber completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, followed by fellowship training in orthopaedic spine surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. 

He has been in practice since 2018 and currently serves as a spine surgeon at Allegheny Health Network. In addition to clinical care, he is actively involved in education and leadership, serving as a clinical instructor and holding roles in quality improvement and perioperative leadership.

Outside the Office

Outside of his practice, Dr. Sauber enjoys spending time with his wife and five children and staying active through running, biking, skiing, and other outdoor activities. He values an active lifestyle and believes that maintaining movement and function is an important part of overall health and well-being.
